Today i had a SCCM 2007 client that was used to test some settings and task sequences.
After having succesfully deployed a flavor of Windows 7 to the machine i needed to test another task sequence.
Whatever i did.. it kept on presenting the abortpxe error.
I tried clearing the last PXE like i already blogged about in another post.
I deleted the machine from the SCCM 2007 database.
I made a query in a group searching for the MAC-address that the machine used. Nothing came up.
The machine still kept on giving the abortpxe error.
The SMSPXE.log showed:
MAC=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx SMBIOS GUID=89B56A8D-629D-11DC-BBDA-C4302688001C > Device found in the database. MacCount=1 GuidCount=1
So after some more attempts of the same i recalled something i read on the interwebs..
What if i restarted the Windows Deployment Service (WDS Service)? I had no tasks running so nothing would be disrupted.
I restarted the WDS and law and behold.. the cache was cleared and the machine was “unknown” again! Yay!
I hope this was informative for you.
