Today i had a client that needed a new operating system.
We use SCCM 2007 to deploy operating systems.
When pxe booting the client we got an abortpxe.com error.
We restarted the Windows Deployment Service (WDS) service, reran the advertisement, cleared the last PXE advertisement and so on: No solution.
Then i deleted the machine from the “all systems” collection. Restarted the Windows Deployment Service and again ran the advertisement. Be sure to make the advertisement mandatory or it may create a pxeboot.com error with an “optional advertisement” resulting in a good PXE boot that cannot find work to do so skips the PXE part and boots in whatever is on the client.
After the procedures described above it started to work again!
I hope this was informative for you.
